Cheap red dot update

The battery that I put in my Truglo Triton red dot is still going strong, being left on the 1 postion (of 3) since last November. Maybe I will go the the range and see if it has enough juice to stay on for a range session.

I might have to try this game

Guess it will be out on Android. With my luck my phone won't play it.

Keep your eye on the ball

A reporter in Boston was taking a self shot in the outfield during batting practice at Fenway. It damn near turned into a BOOM! HEADSHOT! for her. Pic at link.

Panic buy RC cars

Looks like the Boston turds used RC car transmitters and batteries in their pressure cookers. Well, is Bloomberg going to rush to a microphone to suggest banning them?

Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill 844 pages long

Oh, boy! That's long enough that we just have to pass it to see what's in it! Probably makes tax payers into Mexican citizens somewhere in it. Too bad the pages of regulations that spew forth from such a mangled menagerie will number 10 to 20 times that number and have nothing to do with the law. Just be some bureaucrat's interpretation of it.

I guess if it does make me a Mexican citizen, the ATF would supply me with an actual assault rifle. So that would be a win.

Ban earth day shirts

Since one of the founders of earth day was a murdering scumbag who pulled a Polanski, shouldn't earth day shirts be banned for the violent connotations?

The first earth day I was forced to participate in was on April 20th, for whatever reason. (I think the 22nd was on a Sunday that year) So I've always associated earth day with 420 and Hitler*. Yep, I was an ass about it in school. I think it was in 1990, as no earth day crap was ever mentioned up until the "20th anniversary" that year.

*Makes more sense to me that way. It is really just socialist propaganda invented by watermelons who drafted potheads as their "friendly faces" off and on through the years.

Happy Birth Day Lenin

Ah, I forgot that it was Lenin's birthday. Makes sense, being the made up holiday of earth day.

NY Times worried that Boston Terrorists will undermine gun control

They just noticed that the terrorists in Boston did not get their badges mother may I cards for all of their weapons. No shit, Woodward and Bernstein. Those permits only slow down the law abiding.

Well, now, I hope that is over

If I can start finding 22LR on a regular basis, I can get back to shooting once a week (or more). Hopefully the $12 for 20 .223 boxes are not the new norm, just the price of having stuff in stock.

This dump is over two years old

Guess my ranting turned 2 on April 7th. Not that I blogged much the first year. Or recently, for that matter. I've been the kind of sick that even makes me not want to shop online for gun parts. Yes, that sick.

It might be the cold medicine talking

Suddenly the F.B.I. handing out fake stuff to losers doesn't seem like quite the bad deal.

Also, remember when the Texas D.A.s were being offed by a former Justice of the Peace? Oh, that was the real story, not the made up one the media decided to push.

Sick as a dog

Ah, the joys of small children. Fresh germs all the time to sneak up and smack the hell out of you.

Guess I'll watch the Masters and the NRA 500 today.

I vaguely remember reading a lib twit on Twitter that the reason the Gosnell trial is not covered is because it is a "local crime story" not worthy of national attention. Bet the esteemed Senator from Connecticut who wants Fox to not cover the race because of the NRA sponsorship would shit his pants if they used that line on him.

Background checks

What is this internet gun purchase? Strange, all mine get delivered to my ffl.

Helping out

Helped someone put together his first stripped lower this weekend. I was just going to show him, but he insisted on doing it himself. No problems to report, other than chasing the front detent pin a few times. I really need to buy a detent pin tool. Or use a clevis pin.

This is the second CMMG kit I've tried that the disconnector felt funny the first few times it was cycled. After about 10-15 cycles, it smoothed out. The Armalite and Palmetto kits were smooth from the start.

When did online purchases become part of the gun debate?

Is that what they are calling shooting your mother for her guns now?* An online transfer? Still haven't figured out what good expanded background checks will do. How often do they prosecute illegal firearm transfers, anyway? David Gregory violated a gun control law and nothing came of it, because he is all special.

* Is this the theory- we have to stop mass killings by doing these other, unrelated things?

Chicago to extort money to "sponsor" off duty police patrols

The police are minutes away when seconds count. But now Chicago wants people to pony up extra  cash to sponsor increased police presence in their neighborhoods. If only there was a way for people to get most of the benefits of police presence without having to pay extra. Like a one time purchase that you could carry with you, that would give pause to would be attackers. I'm at a loss for what it could be...

I Agree with Bloomberg (doesn't happen often)

He says Albany is a corrupt black hole run by a power mad dictator. (okay, I paraphrased him a little)

Something he actually said is in this excerpt:

Bloomberg also included Gov. Andrew Cuomo in his revulsion of all things Albany, implying that one of the things that aids corruption is the practice of the governor sending lawmakers something called a “message of necessity” so a bill can pass quickly, without anyone having a the chance to study it.

“Why can’t you give it time? Well, the answer is they don’t want anybody to see it. That’s the only explanation,” Bloomberg said.

I am speechless. I guess a broken clock is right twice a day after all. Maybe all this cold weather is because hell actually has frozen over.

Politics as usual in New York?

I am shocked, shocked that they are kicking over rocks in New York and finding crooked politicians. Pretty soon the FBI will be all bagged out for the year on Democrats and have to take the rest of the year off.

Have the politicians been getting lazy lately, or is it just me? Guess they don't realize the guy with the explosives fat envelope of cash is the informant.

Learn something new every day

Roll your own bullets from 22LR cases. I always look at our scrap copper and wonder what it would take to make .270 bullets out of it. Now I know where to start looking.

Wonder what happened here

Two meth heads decided to rob a tractor parts business in Colfax; looks like the owner or a relative put a couple of rounds into the thieves car. One in the hood, another in the "driver's area." So he got arrested and charged with reckless use of a firearm causing property damage.

I'd like to know what actually happened; since a vehicle is accepted as a deadly weapon in most cases and a round in the hood indicates it was pointed towards the property owner.

Oh, so they arrested McCain and Romney

That was my first thought hearing this story announced on the radio. Because the lead was "Democrat accused of conspiring with Republicans to throw election." Instead it was just a Mayors Against Illegal Guns member doing what MAIG members do- get arrested for a felony.

My April fools post isn't funny now

I was going to post about how I found the holy grail on my way to work. But then I went and did just that.

They had a couple boxes of 5.56 xm193 too. I was nice and left it for the next guy. That and it was $13 a box. F that. $23 for 22lr is bad enough.
