Tactical latch yes or no?

I have looked at several assembled  models, from BCM and PRI specifically. Plus the latch only parts from Badger and others. They all look grabby, other than the mod 4(?) BCM.

Yes Ace, I told you to get the BCM and now I am asking for myself.

  1. I put the Gen 2 badger on the M4gery I built. It's smaller than the regular Badger and still bigger than a stock latch. I really like it. Brownells usually has them in stock.

  2. You don't need one, just use the charging handle like it was intended. This also has the bonus of not putting huge side loads on the thing and wearing out one side prematurely or even breaking it off.

  3. I was thinking about trying one on the truck/hd gun. It would also put me one part closer to another upper...

  4. It's not REALLY tactical until it's got rails on it.

  5. If you're using an optic that crowds the charging handle, the extended latches can come in handy.

I've never been impressed with the Badger Tac. latch, but the BCM Gunfighter charging handles are pretty robust and come in different latch sizes.

  6. My biggest fear is introducing a new manual of arms on just one rifle. Kinda the reason I don't like my BAD lever. I don't like it enough to standardize it across my lowers. Not to say I don't use it on the lower that has it....
