Experiment

RIT purple, a stock pot, add heat, not quite boiling, 10 or so minutes. FDE parts. It really reminds me of the purple from the first Batman movie.

Yes, it will glow under night vision. Guess I will give this gun to the decoy.....

I will wash them better next time. The RVG has a slight discoloration where it was
dirty before starting. I did use RIT ND(new formula) and it worked okay. In progress shot below:

I did not know the MOE stippling is little Magpul symbols. This will not work on MOE+ grips, they are rubberized. I tried a chunk of rail cover, no dice there, either.

The Mako stock came out like crap. Where my check rests, a lighter streak remains. Of course no PMag. This is a 6.8. Does it look like a LWRCI?

Look, lipstick on a pig

Okay, it's not a pig, but my homebuilt  5.56 11.5" barreled AR. (pinned and welded, nothing to see here, move along) It has been working out well enough to get a few things put on it.

Okay, so that is a 6.8 mag. Picked up some Magpul Ranger baseplates to try out. Helps differentiate from the 5.56 mags- sucks to grab the wrong one, and those will help. Going to try out the MOE K grip, too. I'm kinda meh on the MOE stock, so I'll run the carbine stock a little longer. Yes, still no optic on the RRA carry handle. Send me a Burris FFIII and I'll beat the crap out of it.:) test it. Yeah, didn't think that would work.

Bling

Found me some new bling today in town.

Troy 7.62 Claymore. I've loaded up some 6.8 to play with soon. Hornaday 110 grain HPBT, 120 grain not-Z-Max, and Speer 90 grain TNTs. Also, the last 6.8 Hornaday loads were 28.0 grain, not 28.5. This week's loads are 28.3 and 29.1 grain. Along with 30.6 and 31.2 in 90 grain, and 27.4 in the 120 SST.
