He says Albany is a corrupt black hole run by a power mad dictator. (okay, I paraphrased him a little)
Something he actually said is in this excerpt:
Bloomberg also included Gov. Andrew Cuomo in his revulsion of all
things Albany, implying that one of the things that aids corruption is
the practice of the governor sending lawmakers something called a
“message of necessity” so a bill can pass quickly, without anyone having
a the chance to study it.
“Why can’t you give it time? Well, the answer is they don’t want anybody to see it. That’s the only explanation,” Bloomberg said.
I am speechless. I guess a broken clock is right twice a day after all. Maybe all this cold weather is because hell actually has frozen over.

Bloomberg's sugar ban violation costs as much as a tax stamp
It is a $200 fine to serve something that offends Bloomberg. If I lived in a free state, it would cost me $200 for a tax stamp for an SBR, suppressor or machine gun. Just a comparison.
The linked NYPost article states that restaurants cannot even bring pitchers* of soda to a table. Because it is over the7 round limit 16 ounce serving size. Ah, dictators and intended consequences. Or a 2 liter bottle with a pizza delivery. And there is no grandfather clause Diet Soda Loophole. All self service cups must be 7 rounds 16 ounces or less.
I hope restaurants will allow people to bring in their own cups over7 rounds 16 oz. Run the soda SWAT teams ragged checking out people BYO sugary drinks. And you can drop a dime via 311. I sense a need for 16 ounce cup holders that are shaped like a 32oz drink.
*I found the proposal on NYCs website.
Set a maximum size for sugary drinks: Non-alcoholic sugary drinks may not be offered or sold in cups or containers that can contain more than 16 fluid ounces.
Set a maximum size for self-service cups: Food service establishments may not offer or sell self-service cups that can contain more than 16 fluid ounces.
Set a fine for violations: No more than two hundred dollars for each violation as described in the proposed rule

The stop having fun police (Dem edition)
The last refuge of smoking indoors in Iowa businesses has been the casinos. So, of course, the Democrats are at it again to close the Casino Loophole. My opinion is, you pay the stupid tax, you get to smoke. I know the bar owners hate it, so they keep trying to pull other frogs back into the boiling pot. On the other had, counties own several casinos, and the government gets their share off of increased profits at all casinos.
