Bloomberg now against iPods

Well, loud noises, anyway. Maybe Bloomberg could throw his weight behind getting suppressors off the NFA if he is so worried about hearing damage. It's not like they are "illegal guns" or anything, just a taxable item at this point.

Mayors against anything

What the hell is it with Bloomberg? He is A MAYOR. Not a governor. Not the president. Not a Dictator. He may run a city with more people than many states combined. So what? MAYOR! Why does he feel the need to get involved in every little issue that comes to pass?* Salt, sugary drinks, smoking, guns, and now pain meds. He wants to ration pain meds in individual hospitals so drug seekers will..... yeah, the plan kinda does that. So, mayor Intended Consequences, now what? There will be daily deliveries of pain meds to each hospital. More chances for robbery. More chances for hospitals to run out, causing problems for everyone in the hospital. It's not like NYC has seen any thing in the past 13 years that could hurt transportation in the city or cause mass casualty events. I mean, he was mayor for Sandy, right?

From the article:

Mr. Bloomberg also argued the number of pain pills currently being prescribed had even contributed to an uptick in violent crimes outside of pharmacies from robbers looking to steal the drugs.

“You see there’s a lot more hold-ups of pharmacies, people getting held up as they walk out of pharmacies,” he explained. “What are they all about? They’re not trying to steal your shaving cream or toothpaste at the point of a gun. They want these drugs.”

You know, if your subjects could adequately protect themselves, or the PERCEPTION was that the average person wasn't just a mark, maybe people wouldn't need to fear being held up as they leave a pharmacy.

*I guess New Yorkers like patriarchal nannies. They have elected him three times. I thought New Yorkers were tough.

Did this guy just go there?

Joe Nocera, in the NYT, calls on Bloomberg to do more. He feels that what the anti gun movement needs is another Limousine Liberal making pronouncements from on high and funneling money into anti gun groups. Because the blood is getting cold. And all those people in the flyover states are getting uppity and getting their rights back, rights that Joe and his ilk took away unopposed before the NRA woke up in 1977.

Damn, it would be funny if New York gets owned by the Supreme Court and has to give out permits to carry to the little people.

Bacon for breakfast, suck it Justice Department

Also, pork ribs for lunch. 10 hours in a crock pot, with some onions, garlic, pepper, and BBQ sauce.

Oh, and if they want to come arrest me for being fat, I've lost 45 lbs eating like this every day. Would Michelle Obama like to know the secret to my success? Ignore fat. Low carbs*. My BMI is now normal (24.3) even though I think that BMI is a load of crap.

Below are the boneless ribs (bought on sale!)
One onion, about 1/2 bottle Cookies BBQ- sweet hickory flavor(Read the ingredients), 3 lbs pork rubbed with garlic salt, pepper, some Cookies flavor enhancer. And honey on the top of each piece of pork. 10 hours on low.
Little home assembled coleslaw (lazy) and yay! Lunch!

*The difference between me and nanny fascists like Bloomberg- He forces people to not eat sugar at the government end of the barrel of a gun.

I stand with the subjects of New York City

Yeah, straight off of wackypedia.
We don't even have 7-11's near me.

I'd call them citizens, but Bloomberg keeps getting elected by someone.

Bloomberg goes off the deep end

Now he is suggesting that the police go on strike nationwide until his "reasonable" gun confiscations take place. Irony is, such a move would backfire in the biggest possible way. In free states, people would still have the choice to arm up. But in criminal run states* the criminals would have nothing to stop them. Guess there would have to be a lend lease program enacted.

And the cops would be hated for abandoning the people to the criminal underclass that the judicial system has been coddling. Maybe he should go on strike from proposing intrusive laws on his citizens until people stop eating food he thinks is bad for them.

Here is a link to a better rebuttal than mine.

*The Sullivan laws meant to arm only Sullivan's gang buddies. Note that charges are dropped when non criminals from out of state get entrapped and might be able to make a 2A stand on that law- it is weak as hell and they know it.

0bama Channels Elizabeth Warren and Karl Marx

From his little speech yesterday:

-blah, blah, bah, Marxist screed, I rule, stole this quote from Liz Warren.....
I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service.-

Wow, that's how fires were fought for years. Why do you think they are often called companies? And private fire insurance paid companies to put out fires. Can't say that I mind local government running fire departments*, but a little historical acknowledgement would be nice. Otherwise, this is almost a carbon copy of Warren's "All Your Base Belong to US" speech. That just pisses me off to no end. The elitist smarm dripping from his and Fauxhontas' speeches rubs my rhubarb the wrong way. PEOPLE WHO PAID TAXES DID ALL THOSE THINGS, NOT GOVERNMENT. Sorry about the yelling. End of discussion. Our government is of the people, by the people, for the people. Not your benevolent Big Brother. Or your vote buying piggybank. (it torques me off when the stupid party does it too)

*Last time I checked there was no federal fire fighting, save forest fires. We don't pay a penalty tax if we don't buy firefighting insurance. And I realize there is a ton of fed money paid out for firefighting.

Added: Marko states it far better than I ever could.

Gimme some sugar, baby

So mayor Bloomberg is against salt, smoking, sugar in drinks over "x" oz. But for the empty calories in donuts. So he was against sugar on the same day he was for it.
So will they send violators with Big Gulps to fat camps? I've heard authoritarian socialists love camps. Some of them have trouble remembering who ran said camps, but, hey, who would that offend?
