You write what you're told

A Senator now has a problem with the First Amendment. Including bloggers and others using non-traditional forms of expression. Seem to be of the musket + Second Amendment, 1791 theory of removing rights. I always thought the gunny response appropriate. Ridicule based on limiting other rights to the technology existing in 1791. Didn’t think the Democrats would take that as a challenge. Silly me.

Durbin was speaking about a proposed media shield law that would only apply to approved journalists. Because the Constitution is over 200 years old. Those pesky upstarts just go around using words.  That way the more important animals like Durbin can get stories out in the way that he wants them out there. Without those pesky Americans having their say.

Nice thoughts, coming from a member of the party in charge when the IRS has been going after TEA Party groups wanting to get involved in educating the public about the excesses of government. And Holder didn’t did approve warrants for spying on the AP and James Rosen. Ironically, in the video from Fox News, he was willing to allow Fox News reporters to be covered by the law, but had doubts about extending freedom to others.

What it will do is help to solidify the government control of the press. If the only people not allowed to speak freely are the “approved press,” under a government proven to go after anyone who does not toe the line. Including journalists- authorized ones included.

Uh, oh, actual reporting going on

Pretty sure that Bob Woodard calling out the President is racist, right? Sequester actually was proposed by the White House. It is almost shocking to read a MSM paper and find a critique of The Won. It was called "opinion" though. Facts are opinions these days. Good to know.

Guess Bob better watch out for this guy.

Democrat Senators Trying to Find Out Who Screwed up Obamacare

You know, the guys who did not read the law until after they passed it. Okay, that was Nancy Pelosi's line. Still, you would think the tools that voted for the law would own up to it.

I didn't watch the STFU last night

Whoops, SOTU*. I get those confused.

The recap so far:

1:Raise the Minimum Wage, for the middle class or the children or something. Mainly to increase welfare benefits and union wage minimums.

2: Ban some guns and register evil gun owners.

3: Free Shit

4: Green mumble mumble

5: Ban cars that don't suck. Pie in the sky mandate for the rest.

6: General can kicking.

*Didn't give a shit about Bush's STFUs either.

No poll watchers in Iowa

The local Democrat was all ready in allow UN observers to influence observe the polls in Iowa, until the Secretary of State pointed out that they can watch from 300 feet away or go to jail. And diplomatic immunity doesn't count as an excuse.

Reenactment not pictured below:

If you note in the first article, Texas also told them to go forth and multiply or spend time in jail, too.

Sad Obama Voter

At Hot Air they had a post about and a mention during the War on Bacon podcast about this article and the sad Obama voter mentioned within. And a photo caption contest for the whiner who can't sleep or workout because of the way the election is going.

Obama talks to The Des Moines Register but they can't talk about it.

Prior to their endorsement (it would be shocking if they didn't) of Obama, the Register got an off the record phone call from Obama. Per the editor, it was the greatest call since Bell invented the phone, etc. But they can't publish it. Off the record and all. Newsflash. I've heard him speak. Can't be that impressive. Sorry, not buying it.

They also state that Romney gave them a full hour, audio recording only. Heh, if I had the link to Michelson's little flap in 2007.....

Iowa Republicans need to get their story straight

One Republican state senator keeps looking wistfully at Illinois and their high gas taxes. While they are attacking Boswell (D) for supporting increased gas taxes. And Boswell is barely running a campaign. Even the daily liberal, er Des Moines Register picked his opponent. He (Tom Latham) might just be the token R for the election, though.

So it costs 150 bucks to not support Fauxcahontas

If you are in a union, anyway. You know, that organization you joined to protect you from the "rich owners."

Sounds like money well spent. Wonder if you can claim that on your taxes.

I stand with the subjects of New York City

Yeah, straight off of wackypedia.
We don't even have 7-11's near me.

I'd call them citizens, but Bloomberg keeps getting elected by someone.

Grumble, nice thing to say about Romney, Grumble

PJ Tattler:

[Totally objective, LOL] reporter:

REPORTER: if you had known last night that the ambassador had died, i’m gathering you did not know. [T]hat came later. if you had known that the ambassador had died.

Mittens:

ROMNEY: i’m not going to take hypothetical what would have been known when and so forth. we responded last night in the events that happened in egypt.

So what does WHO died have to do with regret for Romney's statement? The fact that it was the Ambassador, and not flunky Bob who copies stuff on Tueday night, kinda proves we are screwed up overseas.
What Romney actually released:

“America will not tolerate attacks against our citizens and against our embassies. We will defend also our constitutional rights of speech and assembly and religion. We have confidence in our cause in America. We respect our Constitution. We stand for the principles our Constitution protects. We encourage other nations to understand and respect the principles of our Constitution because we recognize that these principles are the ultimate source of freedom for individuals around the world.
“I also believe the Administration was wrong to stand by a statement sympathizing with those who had breached our embassy in Egypt instead of condemning their actions. It's never too early for the United States Government to condemn attacks on Americans, and to defend our values. The White House distanced itself last night from the statement, saying it wasn't ‘cleared by Washington.’ That reflects the mixed signals they’re sending to the world.
“The attacks in Libya and Egypt underscore that the world remains a dangerous place and that American leadership is still sorely needed. In the face of this violence, America cannot shrink from the responsibility to lead. American leadership is necessary to ensure that events in the region don’t spin out of control. We cannot hesitate to use our influence in the region to support those who share our values and our interests. Over the last several years, we have stood witness to an Arab Spring that presents an opportunity for a more peaceful and prosperous region, but also poses the potential for peril, if the forces of extremism and violence are allowed to control the course of events.
“We must strive to ensure that the Arab Spring does not become an Arab Winter.”

Remember, this was when the White House was condemning the freedom of speech in this country, and essentially making Islam a state religion here*, because some loser 2000 miles away might get upset over something. Obama was scrambling to cover his ass, when all he wanted to do was see himself on Letterman last night. The government started walking back the anti-American statements as soon as Romney's statement was released.

In the meantime, listed here are the questions and answers reporters asked Obama today:
......
......
.....
Yep, that's all of them. Did I leave any out?

*Way to violate the First Amendment twice in one statement.

It sucks when your media monopoly implodes around you

Some whiner at Slate bellyaches about the ability of new media to report what actually happens. Reads more like, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" Funny, now CNN is a conservative new media outlet, too. Because they covered booing God and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's bumbling statements about it. How dare people fact check Democrats, or even dare to repeat their statements! That is deviating from the official party line given to us by The Won!

That was not our...

Seems to be the theme of the Democrat National Convention. Anything that looks reflects poorly on the party or President is blamed on those mysterious "not our people" that attending the convention, or in charge of it. I'm still laughing my ass off at the booing of God and Israel. Don't they know the cameras are on, or do they all just watch MSNBC and think that other networks don't cover this thing too? Hell, CNN is approaching actual reporting with some of the coverage they are providing.

Lazy pic dump

So I was at this Golf Course in Chicago

I didn't know that was double secret racist! Oh, wait, it was the whitewash squad from MS-NBC declaring it, because everything at the convention this week is racist. Romney speaking on Thursday is probably racist, because the Cosby Show was on Thursdays or something.
