Bacon Sundae

The Bacon Sundae from Burger King has far too little bacon for my tastes.

That is all.

Looks like the rain dance is paying off today

This storm is nasty enough to kill the satellite reception. It looks like twilight outside, and not in the sparkly vampire fighting werewolves way...

John Fing Kerry Heinz thinks something or other

Oh, yeah, he claims global warming climate change is as dangerous as Iran having nukes. So he is calling Iran's nukes a made up problem, pushed by people with an agenda who want more government cheese grants?

Hmm, where have I seen this building before?

Nice cover shirt, eh? Too bad there was nothing to cover.

No points for figuring this one out.

Hey, how did a stadium for a real team get in here....

Didn't see ACORN out there

But I'm sure they've already been there. Probably been registered for decades anyway.

How to lose money selling sugar water

Let the government sell it. So they sell a Pepsi for $2, but it costs Amtrak $3.40 each? How do you screw that up? Does the train stop each time someone wants a Pepsi, and they pay someone to drive to 7-11 one at a time? Seriously, who has the food contract?
And a $16 cheeseburger, sold for $9.50?  Our local BBQ joint lists a burger for $16. Guess what, it has a whole pork tenderloin, and bacon on it too. If the Amtrak burger is better than a stale Quarter Pounder, I would be shocked.

U-505

While in Chicago, we went to the Museum of Science and Industry. We did not do the Mythbusters hands on exhibition, but did pony up for the U-505 interior tour. They didn't allow photos inside; I would have loved one showing that my shoulders would not fit through the bulkheads without hunching and turning sideways. If you want to go, get your tickets at the gate, don't wait until you get to the sub to buy the tour- good chance it will be sold out, or several hours until the next tour is open. You can still look over the exhibit, just not go inside.

Screen doors on a submarine!

XXX Olympics

Am I the only one who sees that at the top of the channel guide and has to make sure it isn't a pay channel? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.....

Pigs on a pike

You can't put those there! Apparently some enterprising people in France decorated a Mosque with two pigs heads and blood. Other that stealing the ideas from Carrie and Pershing*, I'm sure this is somehow racist or anti-religion. (Suddenly pro-religion when said religion will kill you, I see what they did there.) Gee, will it turn out like all the alleged hate crimes in the US that turn out to be attention grabbing scams by the supposed victims?

*Or someone else, but I've always heard Pershing did it.

Finally

Forza 4 is finally getting a Boss 302! And a 62 Lincoln. Seriously. Plus the Scion/Subaru FRS. Guess I finally will pony up for some MS points. Need that Ford Van from the May Top Gear pack, and a few oddball cars here and there.

Interview with a man who helped stop a shooting

Sounds like the police showed up to some jackass with a rifle shooting people over dog poop. Unfortunately, the shooter had the drop and cover on the officer. Vic Stacy (in video above) had a clear view of the shooter from 150+ yards away and put 5 in him while being shot at himself. This allowed the officer time to hit him with his AR as well.

Why isn't this national news? Lets see- killing people over dog poop- sensational. Using some kind of rifle, doesn't sound like a semi-auto so that is a strike against coverage. Stopped with the help of a citizen employing his own rifle, red flag, we can't have that. Damn proles might think they can build things themselves and defend themselves.

 H/T to godgalsgunsgrub.Via FB

*Update: He made the shots with a pistol, not a rifle. Wow. I actually watched the entire video and didn't catch that. And he landed 4 hits on the shooter in the end.

File this under knowing your killer

A home invasion went wrong last week in Chicago- apparently one of the crew forgot trigger discipline for a minute and BOOM! HEADSHOT! one of his fellow tax collectors thieves. Apparently even in Illinois that is a crime worth locking someone up for; usually, it seems only the law abiding citizens run afoul of the law using guns in and around Chicago.
