How not to build an AR pistol

So, I started to build an AR 15 pistol.

So far, so good, right? If you look closely, it is a CMMG barrel, chambered in 300 AAC Blackout. That is a Kies compensator, no it is not clocked "right," not that it matters other than the wrench flats. It may get replaced, so I'm not too worried about it right now. Armalite (spit) clamp on front sight base.

I don't think the proportions look right for a pistol:

What actually happened was my original pistol barrel is still on backorder.  A 16" CMMG barrel turned up for sale in the meantime. I could not resist making a MOE dissipator out of it.

As for optics, it is just my Bushnell TRS-25 mounted on the mid height UTG riser. Gives full cowitness with the Magpul MBUS.

Pig is headspaced and ready to run.

The CMMG barrel is carbine gassed. It is not supposed to run worth a crap on subsonic ammo. So, of course, I will be loading some up to see.

Does your handguard have a little 'R' on top near the slip-ring?

Yep. R for rifle, M for Mid, nothing on the carbine.
